Last week, the school in the village of Dmitrievka completed the implementation of the project "Green economy of the garden". In this project, on the school grounds were laid out garden to produce fruits and berries for their own consumption, seedlings of shrubs for their transfer to socially vulnerable categories of the population, as well as skills development of youth agricultural entrepreneurship and increase of employment and self-employment of rural youth.
The seedlings were purchased from one of the nurseries of fruit and berry plants in the Minsk Region. On the same day, they were landed on a pre-designated and prepared site. In total, more than 200 plants of fruit and berry crops were planted (blueberries, raspberries, red and black currants, apple trees).
About 30 people from the school administration, as well as teachers and school student of grades 8-10 took part in the planting of seedlings.
The educational institution undertakes a voluntary commitment to transfer at least 100 plant seedlings to at least 10 families who are in a difficult family situation by 2023.
This project was implemented thanks to donations from the UK Giving Foundation (Canada), attracted with the support of the International Fund for rural development (Minsk, Belarus).
